About us

Our dental nurse course is taught by working hygienists and nurses who have amassed over 100 years of experience in both private dental and NHS practices. Our tutors are experienced and qualified teachers.

Ohe-southwest also employs other skilled dental professionals including former dental nurse students who have obtained their teaching qualifications and are now oral health educators. Our dental students meet them all during the workshops.

Ann Felton

Ann Felton EDH Cert.Ed (Founder)
(1942-2007)

In 1997 Ann set up an OHE course in Bristol. In 2001, in response to frequent enquiries from nurses all over the south west, where few post-qualification courses are available, she set up a workshop-supported distance learning course for those unable to attend weekly.

Sadly, Ann passed away in October 2007. She was highly regarded in the dental profession, particularly dental hygiene, and is sadly missed by all of her many students, tutors and work colleagues. However, her fine legacy lives on in the course and the students and colleagues she has mentored...
