remember the difference between posting a message and posting a topic...
• Posting a message is your way of replying to an existing topic placed by another student, or yourself previously. • Posting
a forum topic is your way of introducing a new topic for discussion.
Examples of forum topics that you may wish to introduce include: lift-shares,
advice on specific assignments or a night out! |
||
| Using the Bulletin Board - PRIVATE MESSENGER | ||
| Another useful feature of the bulletin board is the ability to send and receive private messages with other members. For details of how this feature works, click on the 'Private Messenger' icon at the top of the Forum page. You can also view the full Student Member list by clicking on 'Memberlist'. | ||
| Using the Bulletin Board - Logging out | ||
| When you have finished using the bulletin board. Click on the Logout icon at the top of the forum page. Then click on the back to student login link in the top left corner, just below the ohe logo. | ||
| Workshop Details | ||
| Details of each Saturday session can be accessed here. | ||
| Workshop details – VIEWING DETAILS OF EACH WORKSHOP | ||
| 1. | Click on workshop details from the 'main menu' above. | |
| 2. | You are now presented with a list of workshop dates. | |
| 3. | Click on the workshop that you wish to view e.g. Workshop 1 | |
| 4. | You are now presented with the schedule for workshop 1, including discussion topics. | |
| 5. | Now click on main menu to take you back to the main student resource centre menu. | |
| Course Modules | ||
| Both home and work study modules will be posted on the Course Modules page, proceeding the workshop in which they are handed out. These are back-up copies for students who may have lost their copy, or in exceptional circumstances when a student is forced to miss a saturday session. | ||
| Course Modules - instructions for downloading | ||
| 1. | Click on course modules from the main menu. | |
| 2. | Click on the module you require. | |
| 3. | You may open the module in your browser (and print from there) or save to disc (and print from your hard drive). We bly recommend that you save to disc, as it is a lot quicker than opening the file in your browser. If you do save it to disk, make sure you save it in a folder location with which you are familiar with, such as ‘My documents’ – this will avoid trying to search for the file in an obscure folder location later. | |
| When you have finished using the Student Resource Centre, please click on logout on the menu bar, which will re-direct you back to the home page. | ||
